Beehive Resale Shop

On Main Street Hendersonville, you will find the Beehive. It is a consignment women’s clothing store.

They will let you buy things from the window display.

The Beehive is my favorite resale shop. It’s not like a thrift store. You don’t have to pick through. Nothing is worn out or has missing buttons or anything else you have to watch out for at Goodwill. (Not knocking Goodwill. I shop there, too.)

In the front of the store are some comfortable chairs for anyone waiting for you.

The clothing on the sales floor is all in season. In summer you will find summer clothes. It is all organized. There are dressing rooms with accurate mirrors.

I’ve overheard visitors shop for over half an hour before they realized the store is consignment. It feels more like a boutique with REALLY good prices.

Consignment Jewelry at the Beehive

The Beehive also has new and consigned jewelry. I think about half my earrings came from the Beehive.

Those racks at the end have Clearance items. Anything that stays in the store over 30 days is marked down.

At the back of the stores are Clearance racks. Everything is way marked down, sometimes even cheaper than Goodwill. I don’t see anything wrong with it; it’s just the things no one bought soon enough. I rarely find anything in the Clearance, because I shop there too often and if I like it and it fits, I’ve already bought it.

Consigning at the Beehive

The Beehive will accept consignment from anyone, just call ahead (828) 692-8882 and see what they are taking. They only take so many garments at a time. Make sure everything you bring in is clean and ironed. It all has to be in good repair, no missing buttons or loose threads.

Consignment arrangement is 60/40. Consignor will receive 40% of the sale of items. Items placed on our floor will be reduced after 30 days and 60 days and special sales are sometimes held. Items will be removed from the sales floor after 90 days. Removed items are donated to charity or become the property of The Beehive, for services rendered. Charity receipts will be available when requested.

The Beehive is always accepting in season Shoes and Purses.
When it says on the calendar accepting Shoes and Purses, they aren’t accepting anything else.

You might want to call ahead (828) 692-8882 before you head down there to drop things off. If they don’t have room for them, they won’t accept them. They will tell you what they are accepting.

If you bring your things in early, they hit the sales floor right when people are looking for them and before other stores have them on clearance.

The Beehive won’t accept things that are out of season. They won’t take boots or wool in the summer. They won’t accept shorts in the winter. They wouldn’t sell well anyway, so why waste the floor space?
