Grampa is reading the story The Little Boy Who Wasn’t Lost by Julilly House Kohler. It was originally published in the August 1947 issue of a magazine called Story Parade. It was included in Reader’s Digest Great Stories for Young Readers in 1969 and I have no doubt this is what Grampa is reading from.
